Haut-Médoc – Château Mille Roses 2019
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Merlot (40%), Petit Verdot (5%)
Characteristics: The 2019 Château Mille Roses reveals a deep, garnet-red color with purple highlights. The nose is charming and complex, dominated by aromas of ripe black fruits—blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry—mixed with notes of blond tobacco, cedar, graphite, and sweet spices. On the palate, the attack is supple, with beautiful density and fine but structured tannins. The aging in barrels (some of which are new) brings elegance and length, without masking the fruit. The finish is fresh, persistent, and perfectly balanced, marking a typical Haut-Médoc wine combining power and finesse.
Food Pairing: Ideal with tournedos Rossini, duck breast with figs, grilled prime rib, or mature cheeses. Serve between 16 and 18°C, after aeration or decanting.
The Estate: Located in Macau, south of Margaux, Château Mille Roses is a family estate committed to sustainable viticulture, certified organic since 2019. Led by David and Sophie Faure, the estate produces wines of character, with meticulous attention paid to the vineyard and the cellar. Vinification is carried out by plot, and aging is controlled to preserve the identity of the terroir. Mille Roses is today recognized for its precise, accessible and elegant style, faithful to the nobility of the Haut-Médoc.
