Côte-Rôtie – Côte Rozier – Domaine Guy Bernard 2021
Grape varieties: 100% Syrah
Characteristics: The Côte-Rôtie Côte Rozier 2020 from Domaine Guy Bernard is distinguished by a dense purple color with violet highlights. The nose is intense and refined, revealing aromas of ripe black fruits, crushed strawberry, blackcurrant, and licorice, accompanied by subtle touches of sweet spices and toasted wood. On the palate, the body is ample, deep and silky, supported by fine tannins and a beautiful freshness. The 22-month aging in oak barrels (25% new) brings complexity, balance and length, with a lingering finish of spices and jammy fruits.
Food Pairing: This wine pairs perfectly with grilled prime rib, roast duck breast, game, or mature cheeses. Serve between 16 and 18°C after aerating lightly or decanting.
The Estate: Domaine Guy Bernard is a family-run business located in Tupin-et-Semons, in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. Founded by Max Pouzier, the current winemaker's grandfather, the estate cultivates vines over 60 years old on mica schist soils, typical of the region. Since 2017, the property has been converting to organic farming, producing wines of great precision, combining tradition and respect for the terroir.
