He is known for his work in film.
But here, it's the winemaker who's speaking.
For more than 30 years, Pierre Richard has cultivated his vines in the South of France, at Château Bel Évêque , far from the spotlight.
Not a celebrity whim.
A true story of land, patience and conviction.

On its plots, the vines are cultivated using organic farming methods, with particular attention paid to balance, freshness and drinkability.
In the glass, his wines reflect his personality:
✔ sincere
✔ accessible
✔ without unnecessary demonstration
👉 Southern wines, sunny but never heavy.
Bottles that are opened for pleasure, not to impress.
At Torevitis, we like those winemakers who do things seriously, without making a fuss.
Because in the end, what matters is what's in the glass.
Pierre Richard's wines
Blondus Ricardus
The Blondus Ricardus cuvée from Château Bel Évêque is a red wine built around a classic Languedoc blend that showcases Mediterranean grape varieties: Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Carignan. Syrah contributes dark fruit and spice, Mourvèdre a fine structure, while Grenache and Carignan complete the blend with their roundness and aromatic density. In the glass, this wine is distinguished by its deep color, an expressive nose evoking cherry, blackcurrant, and delicate spicy notes, and a generous palate that maintains a well-balanced freshness. Its silky tannins and aromatic richness make this cuvée a harmonious wine, ideal for grilled or braised meat dishes, or a cheese platter.
The personal Syrah blend
Château Bel Évêque's signature Syrah cuvée showcases the expressiveness of this iconic grape variety from the South of France. Syrah, often vinified as a single varietal or in a dominant proportion, produces wines with intense aromas of ripe black fruit, pepper, and spice. This wine is generally crafted with care, often aged in oak barrels to refine its structure and enrich its aromatic profile. This cuvée reflects the essence of Pierre Richard's work: a wine with substance, a beautiful length on the palate, and a freshness that avoids heaviness, making it an elegant red to accompany meat dishes or regional specialties.
The personal Mourvèdre cuvée
Château Bel Évêque's signature Mourvèdre cuvée showcases this late-ripening grape variety, which produces wines with fine tannins and a dense texture. Mourvèdre is often blended with Syrah or vinified on its own in small quantities to fully express its aromatic potential and depth. The resulting wine typically offers notes of stewed black fruit, aromatic herbs, and sometimes a peppery or earthy touch, with a structure that can stand up to more substantial meals. This cuvée is ideal for those who appreciate red wines with real presence and a perfect balance between power and finesse.
Bel Bishop Castle
The Château Bel Évêque cuvée represents the estate's most traditional and emblematic expression. A blend of the main Languedoc grape varieties (primarily Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan), this red wine is characterized by an intense nose combining blackcurrant, warm bread, and hints of garrigue. On the palate, it is expressive and rounded, with delicate tannins, a lovely smoothness, and an aromatic persistence that pairs beautifully with roasted meats, stews, or grilled dishes. Carefully crafted, this wine embodies the personality of the Corbières terroir and the estate's expertise.
Cuvée Cardinal
The Cardinal cuvée is considered one of Château Bel Évêque's most prestigious, produced in small quantities from the most concentrated and aromatic grape varieties of the harvest. While there is no publicly available, highly detailed information on the exact blend, this cuvée is generally a carefully crafted blend of Syrah and other estate grape varieties, with barrel aging imparting a more refined structure. It is distinguished by its aromatic depth and density, appealing to lovers of more complex and structured red wines, suitable for fine dining or extended aging.
