Aquavitis: the Swiss innovation that combines alkaline water from Montreux and Garanoir from Lavaux
What if the vine could also be passed on… without alcohol?
This is the idea behind Aquavitis , a local drink born from an amazing blend: hand-harvested garanoir grape must from Lavaux , and alkaline water from Vernex , a historic spring in Montreux rich in minerals.
Conceived by Cédric de Pontbriand , with the support of oenologist Alexis Praz from Cave Montreux Riviera, this drink aims to offer a healthy alternative to sodas while maintaining a strong link with grape culture.
A legendary water and a Swiss grape variety
Vernex alkaline water, formerly sold under the name Montreux Alkaline , has a long history. Prized for its purity and naturally high pH, it is combined here with a Swiss teinturier grape variety, Garanoir, to create a fresh, lightly sparkling drink, free of additives and preservatives.
La Perle Rose: fresh, local and responsible
After many trials, the duo obtained a bright pink drink, low in sugar (6.5 g/l), light on the palate and very refreshing.
Tasted in a stemmed glass, it evokes the gesture of wine, while remaining accessible to all: children, adults, athletes, people who do not drink alcohol.

A nod to Montreux's heritage
Aquavitis also revives a forgotten part of local history: that of the Société des Eaux Alcalines de Montreux , active since 1881 and formerly exported as far as England.
Today, the circle is complete: the Vernex spring is coming back to life in a modern, committed and proudly regional project.
